A Fiber Rich Sweet Treat

Raw Truffles

These are quick to make and easy to take on the go but provide long lasting energy! An amazing sweet treat and amazingly good for you!

Dates: An alkaline food and good source of soluble fiber.  Also has antioxidants

Walnuts:  Contain monounsaturated fats, assisting to lower LDL cholesterol levels.  Contains important amino acids that assist blood vessels to relax.  Rich in antioxidants.

Cocoa Powder:  Contains antioxidants as well.

Recipe

  • 1 Cup unsweetened dates, pitted and chopped

  • 1 ¼ cup raw walnuts, unsalted

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder, unsweetened

  • 2 T honey or pure maple syrup

Assembly

Combine all ingredients in blender or food processor. Roll into “truffle” size balls and store in are-tight container.

Serving Data

Two truffles  140 Calories, 8 g fat, 16g carbohydrates 3 g protein
